Romeo and Juliet
woke up late this morning.
walked around.
got really mad at my mum because of several things.
threw tantrum. refused to eat lunch. read 'skin deep' in bed, intending to fall asleep.
woke up much later at 2.
finally left my bed half an hour after i woke up to follow my dad carry things from downstairs. food from my uncle and grandma.
food food food. mother's day you see.
more food. more slacking. more playing. more wrestling with my cousins.
more crying from baby claire.
watched doraemon.
more screening of comedies from youtube.
more wrestling.
more food.
watched romeo and juliet and explored much deeper into the show.
that's it.
i realised i slack too much. reading other people's blog seemed to tell me how much i have slacked this term. my results said it all. must buck up. syf's not a reason. concert's not a reason. i just hope i finally wake up from all this crap that i've been living in.
today's celebration was more of eating and gaining useless calories and fats. i realised i ate a lot during this weekend. and i owe myself countless of pushups and situps. rarh. and my work area is like a pig sty. and i'm serious.
i feel great. i've started preparing my share of lesson that's on 2 June. after yesterday's lesson i finally saw light as to how to capture the attention of young kids. yesterday's lesson was not as draining as the previous ones because the class size was small, only 2/3 of the usual size. spent ages trying to coax some of the kids to participate in the games though.
we started off with playing musical chair. except that this musical chair was slightly different. instead of just walking around in circles and eyeing the chair you want to land on, they kids had to dance the chicken dance as well as sing the chicken dance song/tune. hahas.
last man standing - joshua
last woman standing - zoe.
then story time. then a challenge to sum up the lesson. and that is to write a letter to your mother. yesterday's lesson was about a mother's love you see. then to make sure everyone in class had participated at least an activity or discussion, we had a 'Great Book Challenge'. the class was split into 3 groups. 4 girls vs 4 boys vs 2 teachers. in 5 minutes, write down as many books in the bible you can recall as a group onto a piece of vanguard sheet. yeah. the teachers won, we had 52. (: the girls got 28, the boys 29. actually both the guys and girls got 32, but spelling errors caused them to lose points. yup.
Romeo and Juliet today, again. explored deeper into the whole play. watched the actors themselves talk about the characters they played, mainly romeo, juliet and tybalt. need to start reading the book. oh wells, i have, but just skim, but not into the thing. i think watching R and J is different from watching other movies. like stated in one of the interviews, i can't remember whose, you can't improvise the movie the way you want the play to be. you have to do it according to Shakespeare's way and portray the play as how Shakespeare wanted it. there was a great deal of annotating to do and you have to very much fit yourself into the character you are playing.
anyway, Claire Danes did really well for her role. she was born in 1979. and the modern day R and J was filmed in 1996, early 1996. which makes her only 17 when she did the play. Leonardo DiCaprio, i don't doubt his acting skills. a few years ago, i think he was the most handsome male actor around.
ayways. toodles.
